Pilot Production

Living Lab for Urban Circular Economy

Berlin, March - August 2026

Building on our research, Earthbound is now taking the next step toward market entry. Following the successful initial approval of our earthen building materials and the development of a scaled production infrastructure, we will carry out a first pilot production in the spring of 2026.

An operational learning phase

This pilot phase serves as an operational learning curve in which logistics, process workflows, and the handling of our source materials are tested under semi-industrial conditions. The aim is to establish a robust basis for planning our full-scale production facility. As part of the pilot production, approximately 50,000 earth blocks will be manufactured and made available to selected early adopters in the Berlin construction sector. The produced blocks will be used in selected demonstration projects, making our building materials visible and tangible in real-world construction contexts.

Production will take place between March and August 2026 in the former AirBerlin hangar at the Urban Tech Republic in Tegel. Accompanying the production, two public tours are planned, as well as the construction of a full-scale 1:1 demonstration structure on the former airport site. In this way, the pilot production will function as a living lab for urban circular economy.

Seeking demonstration projects for 2026

We are currently still seeking suitable demonstration projects. If your project is scheduled for implementation in 2026 and the use of load-bearing earthen block masonry could still be integrated, we would be pleased to hear from you.
